Heffingen – Lu

What a commotion it was on that Saturday afternoon, when, during the rehearsal for radio mass on Sunday morning, the organ’s electric motor burnt out and the organ literally ran out of breath. Luckily, a second-hand blower could be procured in good time.

The Church Fathers decided that, after such a shock, the instrument, which had been built in 1961 by the company Haupt of Lintgen, had to be refurbished.

Apart from cleaning the entire instrument, all of its skiver split skin puffers were replaced, the console was, once more, placed in front of the prospect, and some of the voices were re-voiced to sound more characteristic of their respective type.
